Dane boasts an array of achievements and accolades. He has triumphed in numerous classical music competitions across Europe and impressed audiences with his solo performances.
His goal is to continue exploring percussion and classical music, all while refining his unique playing style and innovative approach to the classics

Dane Franolić (Zagreb, 2004) is a second-year percussion student at the Academy of Music Zagreb. As a talented candidate, he enrolled at the Academy in 2023, a year prior to high school graduation. Throughout his life he participated in numerous international competitions, seminars, and held solo concerts. Just in 2023 he won six prizes – first and fourth prize at the Percute Competition Catarroja in Valencia (Spain), first prize at the international competition of percussion instruments Stevan Strunjašević in Belgrade (Serbia), second prize in Salzburg (Austria) at the International percussion competition Hallein. He was also victorious in Italy at the Filadelfia Festival in Tropea where he won a first prize in the marimba category and a first absolute prize in snare drum category. In Tropea he also held his first soloist performance abroad. This year he participated in the SONUS percussion competition and successfully won the second prize. On account of his dedication, work and accomplishments he was awarded with the Yamaha scholarship last year and with the University of Zagreb scholarship this year.
He held a solo concert at the beginning of this year on the IPEW festival in Bjelovar, Croatia. His performance on the UniART festival was accompanied by dancers from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. He has also performed for the Good Morning Croatia show on the Croatian Radio Television. In 2023 he held solo concerts at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, at the Percussion Night Križevci Festival, and two concerts at the Filadelfia Festival in Italy. Besides all his soloist achievements he played with various ensembles, orchestras and musicians, starting with the famous cellist Stjepan Hauser, Italian singers Il Volo in Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall, as well as the Young Musicians Orchestra in Berlin. His mentors at the Academy of Music in Zagreb are professor and the dean of the Academy Igor Lešnik and asst. Luis Camacho Montealegre. Throughout his education he worked with many other famous soloists and professors such as Ivana Kuljerić, Theodor Milkov, Tomasz Goliński and many others. He aspires to be a professional percussionist and to pursue a lifelong career in music.
